| i guess it's time for my monthly-ish xanga post. i should be in bed, but i'm just not tired yet. this is going to get worse before it gets better.
i'm back in school now. classes are all right. living on campus is far superior to living with either my parents or the schmeckpepers, but i'd still rather live not-on-campus. whatever. we have a balcony. its nice. we have a kitchen. it doesn't get used very often. the downside is that i'm smoking too damn much. i smoked almost an entire pack of cigarettes this weekend. bleccchh. at least i haven't gotten anything pierced or tattooed, despite having hung out at a tattoo parlor 2 days in a row.
uuuuummmmmmmm, what else? i went to chicago for the yda convention and a little bit of lollapalooza. that was pretty hella fun.
labor dabor is this weekend. i feel like i should be doing something, but no plans have been made, and it looks like that's the way it's going to stay, unfortunately. crapz.
god, xanga sucks these days. i'm not even sure why i'm writing. i just feel some sort of stupid obligation to keep this shitheap alive. is it worthwhile? no. i keep hoping to be proven wrong, though.

| i had to put my cat down the other day, and i'm hella sad about that. but i don't want this to be a downer post, and there are other things to talk about.
today and yesterday, i went to thrift stores and bought shit for my dormpartment (i hesitate to call it a dorm because they're too damn nice for that moniker, hence the term dormpartment). among these items is a 27-inch tv for only $25. and yes, it does work.
lillian turns 21 in a few days. that's pretty sweet-ass, but i'm missing a couple concerts i would have liked to go to. i think it's worth it, though, especially considering the fact that my sister also would have liked to go to the same concerts, but she has to miss them in order to supervise little kids 24 hours a day at girl scout camp. <sarcasm>she's one lucky lady </sarcasm>.
i'm going to the young democrats of america national convention in chicago in august. since i'll be in chicago, i want to do everything that ferris bueller did. also, everything that the blues brothers did. that seems like it would be one helluva trip. unfortunately (maybe fortunately) my life is directed by neither john hughes nor john landis. oh well. i'm sure it will be enjoyable nonetheless.

| school is over and i'm jobless and living at home.
we're redoing large sections of floor in our house, just in time for my parents to move out in a few years. little by little, we are undoing the fuglification put upon this house at the hands of tom toles. TOOOOOLLLLLES!!! as i was emptying out a closet in order to rip out the carpet, i found an accordion. i want to learn how to play it. i don't know how long this desire will last, but i'm going to run with it for now.
our cat ran away last night because he's dumb and curious. then he came back, so no worries.
i'd rather be in new york right now. or somewhere that isn't my parents' house.
my sister is graduating this sunday. woo for her.

| happy may, everyone. long time no post, but that seems to be the way things go in xanga town these days. *sigh* oh well.
seeing as how today is may 1st, which is also a friday, today marks the official (according to me) beginning of the summer movie season, so i feel that it is my duty to provide a rundown of the films that i am most looking forward to, in chronological order.
may 1: x-men origins: wolverine wolverine is a badass and, from what i can tell, the movie more or less sticks with the actual "origins" comic, so props for faithfulness.
may 7: star trek i make no apologies. this. will. be. awesome.
may 21: terminator: salvation the idea of a robopocalypse is almost as cool to me as the idea of a zombiepocalypse (side note: mozilla firefox recognizes "zombiepocalypse" as a word, but not "robopocalypse"), and the terminator series is the best example of such an idea. MILLION DOLLAR IDEA: robots and zombies team up to wipe out the human race. i'd pay to see that.
july 1: public enemies johnny depp as john dillinger? um. fuck yeah.
july 15: harry potter and the half-blood prince ***SPOILER ALERT*** SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE do i seriously need to elaborate on this one? come on.
august 21: inglourious basterds omfg. a quentin tarantino ww2 movie? seriously, if you have a y chromosome and AREN'T psyched about this, there's something wrong with you.
so that about does it for my summer movie preview. yes, i deliberately omitted the new sacha baron cohen movie because it pretty much just looks like another borat, but with a different obnoxious character showing everyone just how racist and homophobic america really is. also, everyone will start quoting things from this movie. i can just feel it, and i'm already annoyed. 3 years ago, it was a fake kazakh accent saying "VERY NICE, GYPSY!" this year, it will be a fake austrian gay accent saying something equally ridiculous. call me snobbish, but i just don't want more people horning in on my already FAAAAAAAABULOUS gay accent i've had for years. hrmph. i'll still probably see it and enjoy it. whatever.
